“Come on,” I said as she left. “Let’s leave Aenlilea alone.”
“Aw,” Rio mumbled. “That’s just not fun.” He followed anyway.
We walked back toward the inn a different way this time, taking the roads that seemed more interesting rather than the ones that would get us there faster. Rio mused aloud about how much could be changed by making the airship work. Levent stayed silent, even as Rio mentioned that the war would be over within days.
As Rio continued to chatter, a huge building caught my eye. It was round and covered in windows that sparkled in the afternoon sun.
“What’s that?” I asked the half-blood, interrupting a sentence about mid-air marketplaces. He glanced at the façade and shrugged.
“It’s the library,” he said. His eye widened as my face lit up.
“Really?” I said, grinning. “We have to go.”
“Um, m’lady, it’s not really what I’d-“ Rio said.
“I’m going,” I said, charging toward the library.
Rio shook his head and yelled after me, “You two have fun!”
I blinked and turned to find Levent right behind me.
“You’re coming too?” I said, a little surprised.
“Is that a problem?” he said.
“No. Of course not,” I said, giving him a smile. “Let’s go.”
Levent stepped ahead of me to push open one of the heavy wooden doors and we stepped inside.
