“Where are we?” Kewyn asked.
My hooves shuffled along the plush carpet as I went to stare at the chandelier dangling overhead.
“I'm guessing this is how the higher-ups chose to get around,” Rio said.
When I finished staring at the shimmering lights, I looked down to find Rio frowning at me, perplexed.
“How did you get out, by the way?”
I took the key out of my pocket and showed it to him. Kewyn shifted from foot to foot, her eyes checking on the stairways.
“Where did you get that?” Rio asked.
“Levent,” I answered.
This earned me a simultaneous “Levent?” from both the other two. Rio sounded marginally more disgusted, but Kewyn’s face barely hid a snarl.
“Really?” Kewyn asked.
Rio sneered. “Of course. Did you hear he's the prince?”
“I did, yes,” I said without enthusiasm.
“And you still trust him?” The blonde asked quietly after a moment.
I knew Rio heard her, but he said nothing.
“Well, I kind of... have to,” was all I could manage. “What other option do we have?”
“We should get moving,” Rio said. “They’ll find out we came this way soon enough.”
“Agreed,” I said. “But which way?”
“Well,” Kewyn said quietly. “When Levent stopped by to see us, he did say something cryptic about the airship being here. Something about the north-eastern side of the main tower, two stories below us.”
“Oh yeah,” Rio said. “We’re going to go with that?”

I had to run down the stairs to keep up with the other two. This was made marginally more treacherous by the smooth carpet, but I managed.
