fell face-first into the pillow.

At that moment, the ship rocked and I felt the futon slide along the floor, myself with it. Kewyn shrieked in anger and horror. As much as my head stung and protested, I needed to move. Gritting my teeth, I sat up and attempted to stand.

It was easier after a moment. I actually succeeded in pulling myself to my feet with the help of the wall. Despite feeling a bit dizzy, I opened the door and leaned out into the main cabin.

I was just in time to see Rio leaning out the door, shaking his fist and yelling for Levent to “beat him to a bloody pulp!” Kewyn was still warming up the engine, but by the sound of the rumbling machine below our feet, departure was immanent.

“Move,” Levent said, pushing Rio out of the way. He planted his feet on either side of the door then growled to Kewyn, “Turn.”

“What?!” She shouted in disbelief.

The longhaired kin did not answer, but began to push his own magic through his palms. The fireball burst into existence between them, and the blonde turned the airship sharply. Levent bent his knees against the turn to keep steady, his face a sneer
